Donations - Your Donations Rehabilitated For The Greater Good

Donation Details
- You can make a TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation of computer equipment to us.
- You will receive an itemized Donation Receipt from GE Elfun Computer Rehab of Schenectady, Inc.
- We do not assess the value of your donation. It is your responsibility to assign a dollar value to your donation based on the original purchase cost, age and market value. This value of your donation is a matter between you and the IRS.
- Please look at our current minimum computer system requirements below before making your donation. We must be selective about your donation because of the disposal cost of equipment with hazardous materials.
- If you have any questions about what items we can use, please call and we will discuss your equipment.

Donation Location and Times
- Individuals are asked to please bring all donations to us during our hours of 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM every Tuesday and Thursday (except for holidays).
- If you cannot deliver your donation, please call us and we may be able to arrange for the pickup of your equipment by one of our members.
- Business and corporate donors please call and we can discuss the logistics of delivery or possible pickup at your location.
- We are located in the GE Vernova Main Plant in Schenectady, NY, off Interstate 890 Exit 4.

We Accept the Following Equipment for Donation

Please note: When donating Samsung phones or Apple computers, iPhones and iPads, please insure the devices have been Activation Unlocked.

If a device is Activation Locked, it cannot be reused. It can only be scrapped.

Acceptable Computer Equipment	Notes
Computers: Laptops, Notebooks, Tablets, iPads, Surfaces, Towers and Desktops	Newer computer models are cleaned and prepared for donation. Older computer models are accepted for their reusable parts and scrap materials. For all devices, we wipe the hard drives clean of all information and programs. Laptop bags	All types and sizes
CD & DVD Drives	Both read-only and recording drives (burners) accepted.
Monitors	All LCD (flat panel) monitors typically 19″ and larger
Keyboards and Mice	Both USB keyboards and mice are accepted. Wireless keyboards and mice MUST include transmitters; serial numbers MUST match.
Speaker Sets	All speaker sets. Power supplies and cord sets for the speakers MUST be included.
USB Connection Devices	All types of USB connection devices.
Memory Modules, Cards, Etc.	All types of SIMM/DIMM/SSD memory modules. PCI and PCIE graphic adapter cards. Network interface cards. PCMCIA cards.
Acceptable Miscellaneous Equipment	Notes
Printers	All printers except dot matrix are accepted. Printers must be 110 VAC or have a power supply.
Scanners	Scanners MUST have a USB interface. Power supplies/adapters MUST be included.
Networking Switches, Etc.	All types of switches, routers and hubs are accepted. All devices must be capable of at least 100 Mbit/s
Video Projectors	All types of video projectors.
Digital Cameras	All types
Cell Phones (Insure Apple iPhones are Activation Unlocked	All types
